About	Subjects taught: English, Math Margaret Lacy Mauck, 83, Springfield, died at 6:04 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 in Cox Medical Center South Emergency Room. She was born Oct. 1, 1907 in Lee%uFFFDs Summit to Wm. A. Lacy and Leona Mae Gibbons Lacy. She, her parents and her three older brothers moved here in 1915 so the children could attend Drury College. She was president of her senior class at Central High School in Springfield and in the weeks before her death was involved in planning its 62nd reunion. She attended Drury College until her senior year and completed her studies at University of Missouri, earning a degree in English in 1933. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi and active in its alumni group until her death. She enjoyed the theater, participated in the programs at Drury and University of Missouri and appeared in several early productions of the Springfield Little Theater. She taught English at Cole Camp, Sarcoxie, then at Jarrett Junior High School in Springfield until she married William E. Mauck on Sept. 29, 1939. In the mid 1950%uFFFDs, she returned to teaching and when she was 50, earned a Masters Degree in Education at Drury. She then completed her career in special education teach at Hillcrest High School until retirement in 1974. She was a member of First and Calvary Presbyterian Church and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, William E. Mauck; her sons, Sam M. Mauch and William L. Mauck; her daughter-in-law Barbara; and two granddaughters, Victoria L. Mauck and Kathleen A. Mauck, all of Springfield. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First and Calvary Presbyterian Church with Dr. Gary Stratmann officiating. Burial will be in Maple Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Klinger Mortuary at 1635 N. Benton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Margaret Lacy Mauck Memorial Fund in care of Pi Beta Phi, Drury College.
