About	Subjects taught: Journalism I & II, Quill and Scroll Margaret E. Backlund, 86, Springfield, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Thursday Feb. 2, 1995, in Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Margaret was born March 12, 1908, in Verona to Louis and Anna Carlson Backlund. Margaret was a journalism teacher at Hillcrest High School and established the Hillcrest yearbook and newspaper. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She is survived by a niece, nephews and special friends. Larry and Linda Groves, Rogersville. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Eastlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Lyndell Worthen officiating under direction of Thieme, a Heritage Funeral Home.
