Ronald D. Smith, age 49, Springfield, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2008. Ronald was a 1976 graduate of Hillcrest High School, Springfield. He worked as an iron worker for Erectors Plus for 12 years. On December 16, 1994, he was united in marriage to Rebecca "Becky" Blankenship. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Green Hills Country Club. Ronald was loved and respected by all who knew him and worked with him. He will be greatly missed. Ronald was preceded in death by a brother, Aaron Smith; his grandfather, Leon Smith; his grandmother, Opal Smith; and a cousin, Shane Smith. He is survived by his wife, Becky; parents, Jerry and Carol; son David; sisters, Zanita and husband, Robert Esther, Cherrie Stockstill and Lisa Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Monday, February 25, 2008, at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Bass Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the funeral home today, February 24, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m.
