Eula Mae "Judy" (Pilkinton) McDowell, 59, Springfield, passed away at 1:15 p.m. Aug. 22, 2006, in her home with family by her side. Judy was born in Seymour, Mo., on Jan. 27, 1947. She moved to Springfield at an early age and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1965. Judy worked at Fasco Industries as a winder operator and inspector. She left Fasco in 1978 to enter the grocery business as a meat wrapper, retiring in 2001. She married Harry McDowell on August 25, 2001, at First Christian Church, Kimberling City. Judy was baptized into the Lord on November 15, 2004, at Sunset Church of Christ in Springfield. She and her husband attended First Christian Church of Kimberling City. Judy was preceded in death by one son, Owen Lee Pilkinton of Kimberling City. She is survived by her husband, Harry McDowell; her daughter, Phyllis Elkins; her mother, Thelma Flo Thompson; her brother, Virgil Thompson and wife, Betty; her grandchildren, Ryan and Cody Pilkinton, Jeff Gardner, Tanner Elkins and Baby Kasey, Stacy and Kasondra Bolding; and great-grandchildren, Trey Pilkinton and Jeffery Gardner, all of Springfield. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, August 26, 2006, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2006, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, or Community Hospice of Southwest Missouri.
