About	Gary B. Sloane, 61, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2008, in St. John's Hospital, after a long illness. He was born August 7, 1946, to Clayton D. and Leona M. Sloane, who both preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Hillcrest High School in 1964 and was a U.S. Army Veteran. Gary worked for Ridewell Corporation for 20 years until he had to retire for health reasons. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, York Rite and the Shriners. He is survived by his sister, Becky Sloane and foster brother, Lenard Davenport, both of Springfield, and several cousins. Gary's life was extended many years by the wonderful medical care he received from his doctors and their staffs, locally: Dr. Norman P. Knowlton III, M.D., Dr. Stanley D. Wiggins, M.D., Dr. Ronnie G. Smalling, M.D.,and Dr. Wade T. Jordan, M.D.; and Dr. Edward M. Geltman, M.D., of St. Louis, Mo. In accordance with Gary's wishes, after tissue donation, the body was cremated. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2008, in Eastlawn Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Gary to the cardiology or Barnes Lodge Funds at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Foundation Mail Stop 90-94-206, 600 S.
