Obituary: James (Jim) Darrell Burroughs
James "Jim" Darrell Burroughs, age 58, of Springfield, Mo., died in his home of Malignant Melanoma Skin Cancer on Monday, Sept. 10, 2007. He was born in St. Louis, Mo., July 10, 1949, son of C.E. Burroughs and Jacquelyn O. (Parker) Burroughs. Jim graduated from Hillcrest High School, Springfield, Mo., class of '68, and worked as a HVAC Service Tech for Central Heating of Springfield, Mo. Jim opened his own shop in 1999, Jim's Home Repair. He is survived by his mother, Jacquelyn O. (Parker) Burroughs, and brother, Michael Burroughs, both of Lebanan, Ill.; daughter, Kimberly Corbin of Springfield, Mo.; three grandchildren, Elmer, Rilly and Tyler; his wife of 17 years, Margie A. Burroughs; and two stepsons, Eric and Greg Moore. A memorial service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 515 E. Division St., Springfield, Mo., at 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2007, with Fr. Jerry Miller officiating. Following the service, a reception will be in the church's Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's name to St. John's Episcopal Church.
