Arriving at Highland Park Junior High School I found in PhyEd class we were required to run the 600 yard dash. I established myself as a "contender" so to speak placing first in my class run on that Fall day. I soon learned of the other fast runners and was just pleased to be one of that unofficial select group. I do not remember exactly when Rollie Flynn arrived at Highland Park but it soon became apparent that he was the runner par excellence and it would take a lot of work to ever compete with Rollie. He was a gracious runner and winner. I moved over to gymnastics but remember those days and Rollie with pleasure. It is my hope that we will meet again in "the Kingdom of Heaven"
