About	My brother, was two years ahead of me at Highland Park, we both ( along with our other 3 sisters) went to Homecroft, then Highland Jr High and then Highland Sr High. He was always his own unique sort of human<3 He married Patricia Lou, (Patti) Birk ( Schnarr) in 1983 and they had 3 children. Caleb Birk Schnarr, 1985/ Katelyn Jeanne Schnarr, 1987 and Laura Esther Schnarr,1990. They raised their family in Colorado Springs, although they met and were married in the Black Hills of South Dakota, and loved that place all their lives. Patti died in a hit and run accident in the fall of 2005. Rich was really never the same after Patti was gone. He died of a hereditary gene that runs in our family, CDH1 which involves diffuse gastric cancer. He was diagnosed in mid August and died on the 30th last summer. ( 2019) His children are all in the Denver/Colorado Springs area as are his grandchildren.
