Alumni Stories
Marilyn Millwee, MD
Class of 1968
I worked to develop the idea of Wholistc Health back in 1970 to 80's
The idea is to exercise instead of drink alcolhol, and smoke,
do yoga to develop mentally,
and meditate to understand your creative self.
we instituted:
1. exercise rooms in the workplace and
2. alternative medical options on health care policies. etc.
3. massage therapy for stress relief and to improve healing after illness or surgery
( improves circulation)
the research showed that people recovered better/ quicker from surgery and heart attacks who mediated.
4, diet of fruits and vegetables improved a person ability to ward off diseases like cancer, heart disease, and addictions.
I recall being on the cutting edge of this way of living which is now taking great hold on our lifestyle and has become the preferred lifestyle....
.'.Health Concious Living. "
In 2004-6 I did a research project on the " Efficacy of colloidal silver as an alternative medicine anti-biotic; and discovered that it has life restoring properties for patients with hepatitis C. The reason for this is
because it is anti-viral and reduces the viral load in these patients so that a return to somemwhat normal life has been achieved with its use. It is not a cure but is restorative and life-giving to these very sick patients.
This paper was recently written and has not yet been published. Great things are often mocked in the time of the lifetime of researcher. but found to be lifesaving sometime in the future 30- or 40 years from now. Colloidal silver is probably one of those things.
My most recent interest has been alzheimer's disease. there is nothing to disclose about this other than the use of aluminum cans may contribute to the development of alzheimers disease and their use should be avoided. (This information is not to my credit. )
That is all for now.
Thanks for the opportunity to share this story with you at good ole Highland Park!
