Ernestine (Leora "Lee" Vandevender) Mead passed away on December 23, 2016 of complication of from Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimer's, and surgery. She had taught elementary school in both Albuquerque and Denver. She retired from Sandia Labs in 1993.
