JUDITH "JUDY" GALE (ROBINSON) MERCER
On the morning of July 18, 2016, Judy passed away peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA.
Judy worked as Associate Dean for Libraries and Director of Education Technology, Edward Brickell Library, Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS). At the time of her death, Judy had recently retired from EVMS. She was predeceased by her mother, Harriet Alice (Heath) Robinson, a long-time 5th-grade school teacher in Henrico County, and father, Nathan Lamar Robinson, a Sales Manager for Dickie's Workclothes.
Judy was known for her wonderful sense of humor and her curious and sharp mind. Judy will be missed by her loving sister, Nancy Campbell, cousins Robin Tice and Melinda Kiss, her husband, Randy Mercer, mother-in-law, Lillian Daniels, and sister-in-law Miriam Smith. Judy will also be missed by her EVMS family. Close friends include Bella Karr Gerlich, Pat and Tom Shannon, and John Curtin.
A memorial service was held August 22nd, 2017 at 11 am at First Lutheran Church at 1301 Colley Ave., Norfolk, Va 23517. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PFLAG-Norfolk or the Boys and Girls Club.
