About | Linda Kay Harris June 26, 1945 – August 13, 2024 Linda Kay Harris was a remarkably intelligent compassionate person. She was as comfortable in the Western desert as she was in the Sedona home she designed. Her father Roy Kepner was a geologist and surveyor for the Bureau of Land Management, and Linda adopted his love for the outdoors. Linda was born in the land of Escondido but felt more at home in the Anza Borrego desert sands. Every weekend brought an opportunity to exit the city and go where other people are not. In order to fund her education, she worked as a model for several clothing chains, procuring a degree in nursing, which she utilized to procure a Director of Resident Programs position for a large senior care facility in San Diego with seven levels of care. After retiring early due to a bout with Cancer, she moved to Sedona and spent her early days working with a Bed and Breakfast owner. She became experienced with the trails and features unique to Sedona and was a valuable resource to visitors and residents alike. During this period, she co-authored, with Michael Harris her husband, several books about their wolf and coyote hybrid pets. Linda is best known for her calm demeanor and willingness to help. She always had a good word for everyone and was a great listener. She always had a graceful, polished appearance. Even during her last days, she always looked her best. Linda will be missed most by the two pups she left behind, Athena and Chauncey, who had their own place in bed right beside her until she had to leave. |
