Graduation Year Class of 1947
Date of Passing Mar 14, 2017
About Peter Thomas Leather Sr., aka "the good looking one", passed away at home surrounded by his family early in the morning of March 14th, just 3 days shy of his 87th birthday.

His passing leaves his family and friends with only memories, but the laughter those memories bring will long outlast the tears from his departure.

He was many things in life, and in the lives of his family. He was a boy from Jersey City, an athlete, a manager, an employee, a Korean War veteran, an entrepreneur, a working man, a provider, a handy man, a tyrant, a comedian, a fan of Dixieland jazz, an expert maker of tuna fish sandwiches and unusual breakfasts, a son, a brother, friend, uncle, a husband, a father and a grandfather.

Predeceased by his parents George and Sabina Leather and his dear brother James.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 61 years Joanna Przygucki Leather, his younger brother John (Jack) David Leather and his wife Kathy, sister-in-law Joan Leather, his 4 children Peter Thomas Jr., Michael and his wife Margie, Paul and his wife Gina, and Mary Leather-Naughton and her husband Peter, his grandchildren, Ariel, Eric, Grace and James, sisters -in-law Eleanore Przygucki and Annette Adams and numerous nieces & nephews.

May your Irish eyes be smiling as you dance to the Dixieland beat. To we who are left, the answer to his on-going riddle finally makes sense. " The higher, the fewer". You will always be part of who we are.

Visitation will be on Friday, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, 424 Lincoln Ave., Avon by the Sea, NJ 07717. Please go directly to the Church on Saturday as there will not be a procession from the funeral home. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Anne's Cemetery, Wall Township.
