Dr. Sprenkle was the director of the West Chester University Chamber Choir & Collegium Musicum and also served as Chairperson of the Vocal Choral Department and Undergraduate Coordinator for the School of Music during his tenure. He was a faculty recitalist, soloist, and conductor. Dr. Sprenkle was an excellent teacher and mentor who was greatly respected and admired and was an inspiration to his students. He retired in 2011 after teaching for 36 years. Dr. Sprenkle was granted the Professor Emeritus Award by the University in 2014.
