About	Robert "Bob" Ellis, former choral teacher at Henderson County High School, died April 11, 2009, at High Point Regional Hospital in North Carolina. He was 79. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and a former choral director in North Carolina and Georgia. He retired from teaching in Henderson. During his teaching career, he served as president of the Music Educators Associations in North Carolina and Kentucky. Survivors include his wife, Alma Traynham Ellis; four children, Anne Carey of Lilburn, Ga., Barbara Shelter of Altamonte Springs, Fla., Ellen Crawford of Nicholasville, Ky., and Robert Scott Ellis of St. Simons, Ga.; one sister, Mrs. George Highsmith of Thomasville, N.C.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
