I just discovered that Harlan Chase passed away last year, in Florida, where he had resided for many years.
Richard Richard Gowins '63 said:
My closest friend in high school. We lost track of each other while serving in the military during the Viet Nam war. Harlan was one of the most fun living, athlete, personable and caring people I have ever met. We played sports together and even won the Southern California Catch, Throw and punt contest.
I cried when I found he died and gravesite. I loved his mom and dad who were a special part of La Mesa.
