I'm a 52 y/o professional African American - maybe it would be better to say that I am an African American professional (since I don't get paid to be an African American I guess that would make me an Amateur African American - smile). I consider myself a pretty laid back person with a decent sense of humor. I have been a Columbus resident for a little over 5 years now. Prior to that I lived in Miami, FL. Why did I leave Florida? I'm glad you asked. My mother lives in Columbus and she became ill back in '07. I relocated to be closer to her (OK, it's time for all the "Mama's Boy" jokes to start). I am a college graduate with a Masters in Public Administration and a retired 20 year military veteran (US Navy). I help individuals with various readjustment issues (i.e., drug/alcohol, stress disorders, housing, et cetera). I voluntarily left the rat race to persue my desire to help my fellow vets. My work with the homeless is my vocation, my passion and my ministry, therefore it keeps me pretty busy. I am a divorcee (don't worry, I'm not the bitter kind). My ex and my son live in Maryland. He's a National Honors student and I am very, very proud of him. My hobbies are reading, music, reading about music and listening to music while I am reading.
