| About Me | We have been married 43 years. If you find that shocking it's no more than we are. We are retired. In 1989 in Michigan we were Hit by a drunk driver. My husband Randy was driving. Our children were 12 and 13 at the time. My husband was driving. My husband received a severe concussion, our children had seat belt burn. The other car came through my door. Wrapped the door around my right side breakig almost every bone on my right side. All but 3 of my ribs were crushed, puncturing my liver and my rt lung and my liver. My left femur was a compound break. My neck was slightly broken. My jands and feet were broken in multiple places. My Right hip was crushed. My knees were jammed the cartilage was gone. The arm i broke jumping off the school ledge was rebroken. It broke my collar bone and my. Shoulder blade. I was trapped from the other car shoved us into a field causing the front of the car being pushed against a tree. I was trapped from the front and the side. I was aware through the whole incident. Our children had seat belt burns. My sons seat belt wasnt working so I moved him to the center to use that belt. It saved his life. Randys foot healed and the concussion. I had a rod in my left femur. Both my knees have been replaced. My hip was rebuilt 3 times and then it was replaced. I was in full traction for over 3 months. I was in a wheel chair for several months. I healed very well and went back to owning my flower shop. I was not able to continue the demands and hours. I started working real estate in Battle Creek, MI. I liked it but not as much as the flowers. I still couldnt keep up. I was in constant deep pain in the winter. My husband took a job in NC in Charlotte. We moved August 4th, 1994. To Fort Mill SC for 18 years. Then we moved closer to our Daughter and Granddaughter just north of Charlotte. Our son has lived many places. He is a Baptist minister. He married one of the two most beatiful brides in the world, my daughter being the other. They have 4 children. Of course they are my diamonds. The glitter of my heart. We have added an adopted grand daughter. She is as lovely as the others.
