Age 72 of Owosso passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Kincaid officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 8 pm.
Gerald was born November 10, 1941 in Lansing, the son of Herbert and Helen (Curtis) Carpenter.
Gerald loved nature and was a true outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Most of all he looked forward to spending time with his family. He will be remembered by his loved ones as a kind man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need..
Gerald married Beth Burdick at St. Johns United Church of Christ on November 7, 1997.
He was owner and operator of Carpenter Construction.
Gerald is survived by his wife Beth; children Chris (Shawn) Carpenter, Mike (Stephanie) Carpenter, David (Amanda) Burdick, Brett (Rye) Carpenter, Jared (Amanda) Carpenter, Stacie Carpenter, Kyle Carpenter and Derek Chapko; grandchildren Nick, Randy and Casey Carpenter, Destiny, Dustin, Ian, Dillion and Joseph Carpenter, Zack Burdick, Dalton, Owen, Logan and Ellie Carpenter; 10 great-grandchildren; many other loving family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, 2 brother, 1 sister and his mother and father-in-law.
