Age 81, passed away July 28, 2024. She was born April 18, 1943, in Saginaw, Michigan. Penny graduated from Haslett High School in 1961. She retired from Consumers Power Company. She loved to travel with her husband, Verlyn, especially riding the motorcycle and camping. Penny also enjoyed sewing, reading, doing puzzles and going to the casino.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Drew) Bartell; and by her dog, Honey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verlyn Wood, in 2016.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel with interment to follow in Glendale Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ingham County Animal Control & Shelter in memory of Penny L. Wood.
