William Patrick Jennings passed away on August 27, 2025. Known to family as Billy and to friends as Bill, he was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Billy was born in Jersey City on September 23, 1957, to William and Eileen Jennings, the second of their seven children. He was an astonishingly beautiful little boy who captured the eyes of everyone.
A proud graduate of Hasbrouck Heights High School, Class of 1976, Billy was a record-breaking athlete and standout member of the Varsity Wrestling and Cross-Country teams. His talent and dedication on the mat earned him recognition in the Hasbrouck Heights High School Wrestling Hall of Fame — a testament to his remarkable skill and perseverance.
Billy studied at Bergen County Community College and developed expertise as an auto-body mechanic — a career he dedicated himself to for over 35 years. He had a craftsman’s eye for precision and took pride in his work, shaping and restoring each car with care and dedication. He had a lifelong interest in classic cars.
Billy met his wife, Bernadette, at the Jersey Shore, and after they were married, he moved to Las Vegas, where they built a life together filled with love and respect. He adored her deeply, and their time together was among the happiest years of his life. Billy was a man of great heart — steadfast, caring, and genuine.
He was predeceased by his wife Bernadette; his mother, Eileen; sister, Judith; and brothers, Robert and James. He is survived by his father, William Jennings (Catherine) of Pequannock; sisters, Mary Bowers (Mark), Nancy Nicotra (Joseph), and Eileen McCabe (John); and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
