About Me	* After graduation, I enlisted with the United States Marine Corps. and was stationed at Cherry Point Air Station in North Carolina. It was there that I met and married a Navy man, William (Bill) Shephard. We have been married for 43 years and have one son, Robert. * We moved to Bill's home state, California in early 1968 where we still live. Native Californians don't usually leave to live in extreme hot/cold weather states. As a transplanted Californian, I agree that this is the best place to live. * Worked for Mack Trucks for 12 years in the Employment Department, until they moved their operations to Allentown, PA. * Then I worked as a Human Resources Benefits Specialist at the World Headquarters of Levi Strauss & Co. for 24 years. I retired on January 1, 2004 when Levi outsourced the H. R. Dept.. * On November 9, 2005, I had brain cancer surgery followed by 5 cyberknife surgeries. The surgeries destroyed the cancer, but also destroyed some good parts of my brain, leaving me permanently disabled and unable to work again. * My husband and I are no...(read more)
