Raymond Everett "Joe" Chase, 76, of Lynchburg, Va., passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Monday, January 15, 2018. He was the husband of Sandra Kay Lafoe Chase for 43 years. He was born on December 4, 1941, in Lebanon, N.H., a son of the late Raymond Harrison Chase and the late Minnie Ellis Chase. Raymond devoted his life to his country, first serving in the United States Navy, second in the Army Reserves, and last at the United States Postal Service with a total of 51 years of civil service. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. He was also a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge #1541 and the Moose Lodge #715. In addition to the love of his life, Sandra, he is survived by Cyndi Culver (Steve) of Williamstown, Mass., Andrea Judd (John) of Norwich, Vt., Jayne Lower (Richard) of Lebanon, N.H., Barry Chase (Jill) of Tunbridge, Vt., Jim Chase of Lynchburg, Va., and Tanya Campbell (Wesley) of Goode, Va.; 12 grandchildren, Bryana Johnson, Heidi Johnson, Amber Andrews (Devon), Chris Judd (Heidi), Ashley Judd, Amanda Chase (Zach), Scotty Chase, Brian Chase, Meagan Chase, Cameron Chase, Caissy Chase, and Carley Chase; 14 great-grandchildren, Sierra Robey, Christian Robey, Keenen Robey, Ethan Robey, Jayde Towers, Isaiah Rose, Skyler Matthews, Amiyah Andrews, Jordyn Andrews, Chloe Judd, Liam Judd, Olivia Judd, Jordan Pecor, and Lillian Bacon; two brothers, David Izzillo and Mike Chase (Linda); and two sisters, Garland Ellis and Pat Chase. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mildred Chase; a brother, Kenny Izzillo; and a sister, Linda Pratt. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Friday, January 19, 2018, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, at 2 p.m. with the Pastor Brian Beagle officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #16. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alan B.
