About | Michael Carl 'Ness' Nessen died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at Aria Health Torresdale. He was 27. Born in Bryn Mawr, the son of Pamela S. Hall Nessen (Ellyn Phair) and Carl H. Nessen, Jr. (Sheila), Mike was a resident of Bristol Township for more than 20 years. He was a 2004 graduate of Truman High School. Mike worked as a groundskeeper at Mt. Sharon Cemetery in Springfield, where he enjoyed working with his brother, Jake and the Livezey family. He was employed part-time at Stadium Bar and Grill, where he enjoyed working and being with his friends. He loved all sports, but baseball was his passion. Mike played first base and right field for many local teams including Levittown Pacific Little League, Truman High School and American Legion Post 834, Falls, and then continued his passion by coaching for American Legion Post 382, Bristol. Mike truly treasured his friends and family. Mike was sincere, comforting and helpful, and always made those around him laugh. He took great pride in caring for and protecting those he loved. Even after his death, Mike is continuing to help others throughout the country with his gift of life as an organ donor. Mike is survived by his siblings, Alycia Phair, Amy Nessen (Jack Livezey), Roxanne Drass, Jon Nessen, Curt Phair, Megan Nessen and Jake Nessen. He also will be sadly missed by his maternal grandmother, Patricia Hall; his aunts and uncles, Helen Roberts (Greg), Myles O'Connor (Andi), Robert Hall (Debi), Daniel Hall, and James Hall, numerous cousins, especially David and Christine Roberts; and his lifelong brothers and friends. Family and friends are invited to call from 6 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Services and interment will be held privately.
