| About Me | I attended college, interrupted by some military service, returned to college, got married and finally completed my degree requirements. I then started on a career with the Texas Department of Heath, Division of Food and Drugs. I also continued my service with the United States Air Force Reserve and retired after 30 years of active and reserve service. I subsequently retired as Chief of the Bureau of Food and Drug Safety, Texas Department of Health, when I was selected as the Associate Commissioner for Regulatory Affairs with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in Rockville, Maryland in 1999. After several years in that position, I transferred to my position of Regional Director for FDA's Southwest Region.
