About Clemie Jo Smith Lamb, 71, a resident of Hardee County for most of her life, passed away at her home in Zolfo Springs, Florida on Friday, December 4, 2020. Clemie Jo was born in Wauchula, Florida on December 26, 1948.

In her youth, she was a founding member of the King Kong Rangers, a cheerleader at Hardee High School, and barrel racer. She retired from the Osceola School District and was the Owner of Entertaining Thoughts Catering, which was named Best of Kissimmee in 2014. She was also partner in Buckhorn Ranch and Groves.

Clemie Jo was a Baptist by faith and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was a 4H Leader, a member of the Osceola Cattlewomen, the Silver Spurs, and was named as The Silver Spurs Lifetime Honoree for 2020. She was a Chaperone for Miss Rodeo America for fifteen years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold “King Kong” and Treiste Clemons Smith.

Survivors include her daughter, Treiste “Trea” Cook (Justin) of Winter Haven, Fl; son, Justin Lamb of Zolfo Springs, Fl; brothers, Steven L. Smith (Jo) of Wauchula, Fl; William Clay Smith (Gina) of Sumter, SC; Robert Lawrence Prescott Jr (Jan) of Birmingham, Al; sister, Sandra McCorkle (Larry) of Casselberry, Fl; grandchild, Smith Cook; special family members Jonathan Benbow of Zolfo Springs, Fl; Michelle Braxton Talley of Zolfo Springs, Fl; several nieces and nephews; and one grand puppy, Harper the Hopeful.

A visitation will take place Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 11:00 am at New Hope Baptist Church with Funeral services following at 12:00 pm. Pastor Jeff Clemons, Mr. Marcus Shackleford and Dr. William Clay Smith will be officiating services. Interment will take place at New Hope Cemetery.
