| About Me | Married 45 years as of July 28th. I have two wonderful children, five adorable grandsons and two lovely granddaughters, all siblings! Our daughter and her husband of 20 years are very busy people! Our son is a busy young man, running the Spirit Shop for Butler University. We have moved several times, and we are now living in the country just east of Indianapolis. I was a Surgical Technologist for 15+ years, and I worked the last two years of it in what I always considered my dream job, working for a major Indianapolis Hospital, in the surgery suites of the Labor and Delivery Department. It was a wonderful job, working for and with a great group of people, and I loved it dearly and miss it a great deal. I worked Monday thru Friday, from 6AM to noon, or later only if really needed. No nights, no weekends, no holidays, no call backs ('techs understand what that is about!!) and enough hours to be considered full time for benefits! Unfortunately, I am now totally disabled, over the past 9 years, due to a combination of residual damage from a work injury that damaged my right rotator cuff permanently, despite two major surgical repair attempts; a fall away from work that tore up a knee; an inherited heart condition (A-fib) for which I have had a semi-successful surgical ablation; and continuous deterioration of my lower spine due to inherited conditions that can no longer be dealt with surgically. They have long, involved medical terminology that would take up too much space here to relate and define. Social Security Disability is my income now, in addition to my husband's pay checks, and my occupation is in my recliner. It stinks (the situation, not the chair!) and I hate it with a passion.
