Jerry was a Heavy Construction Equipment Operator,18th Engineer Brigade, 19th Engineer Battalion, 35th Engineer Group, 137th Engineer Company, U.S. Army. On 22 July 1968, twelve members of the 137th Engineer Company Heavy Equipment Platoon were ambushed and eleven were killed in the Village of Tam Quan, South Vietnam, by the North Vietnamese Army.
