Rich passed away on Sept 7, 2024 at Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pat O’Hara, of Amherst MA, his daughters, Sarah and Becca Blatchly of Denver and Lakewood CO, his brother, Stephen Blatchly, of Sydney, Ohio, and his sister, Barb Deering of Deland, FL. His deep intelligence, wicked sense of humor, and love for his family and extended family will be missed. He held Groton and the Blatchly Cottage in Owasco Lake close to his heart, and spent as much time at the Lake as was possible. Many still remember the trick skiing demonstrations he and hid brother put on each summer.
