About	After Steve graduated from Grossmont High School and San Diego State he went into the insurance business. He was a partner in Fifth Avenue Insurance Agency. In his free time he continued to be an avid outdoors man. He loved snow skiing, rock climbing,bicycling,camping, international travel and fishing. In 1982 he married Kathleen Wallace, also a graduate of the class of 1970. They had a beautiful daughter, Natalie, in 1987. On a fishing expedition to Baja Steve fell and hit his head causing a traumatic brain injury. He was air evacuated back to a trauma unit here in San Diego where he under went emergency surgery. After months of intense therapy he regained most of his ability to function. He had to learn to walk and talk again. Eventually he was able to drive again and return to work. Sadly on the 4th of July in 2010 he had a stroke. This time the damage was too great and he succumbed on July 7 with his wife and daughter by his side. We, as a family, are sad that Steve did not live to see his beautiful daughter marry a wonderful man who swept her off her feet and, with very little effort, convinced her to live in Alaska with him. Natalie and Craig celebrated the birth of their first daughter, Salem, in December 2016. Steve would be so tickled to know that on May 7, 2018 Natalie delivered identical twin boys, Leland and Shepard.
