| Favorite School Memory | 1st day of Civics class, Junior year. Mr. Morford and Mr. Snell met us in the new auditorium with lights off, shining a spotlight on different students, grilling them as if they were POWs, asking them to defend the United States. They didn't make it easy; they asked questions about race relations, US colonialism, and other issues in which America faltered morally. | About Me | Married Fran. Lived in WA, MN, NC, and CA, where we have mainly resided. 3 wonderful kids. Our middle child, Brett, died of lymphoma at age 14 after battling it for 10 years. Fran has been a local Family Practice doc in Ventura a long time. Now retired, he fills in for docs and works teaching in the Residency Program. I taught for many years: Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science in Middle School. Now retired, I substitute a lot. We camp, hike, Fran fishes.
