| About Me | Currenty: l am happily married to Ed Gregory from Chester, SC. We live in a 60's brick ranch house Tucker, GA - which is a suburb of Atlanta (7 miles from downtown). I am on disability from TMJD and post-surgical neuropathy. I have one stepson, Paul Gregory, who is now 20 years old and at Clemson. I own 2 chocolate Labs and a long haired cat. I grew up in Greenville, SC; went to East North Elementary, G'ville Middle School, and G'ville Sr. High (grad: 1978). Toured the state colleges - Wofford (1978-1980), Furman (summer school 1979), Clemson (1980-1981, which I consider my alma mata), and finallly, Medical University of SC (1981-1982; grad 1982) After graduation, I moved to Atlanta and lived in various apts around the city. I worked as a MT for about 7 years; then moved into pharmaceutical research which I loved. From there, I worked in medical device/pharmaceutical quality control (also loved), and then back to pharmaceutical research. Since 1984, I have been struggling with TMJD. I have sought pain relief from doctors all over the U.S. and have had 5 surgeries on both sides, the last one being performed at the Mayo Clinic in Minn. I had to stop work in 1997 due to chronic pain issues - I miss work every day and wish I could go back !!!! I try and stay as busy as I possibly can and find that maintaining a positive, up-beat attitude is the best medicine. I am an avid reader and puzzeler. I hang out with my friends and volenteer at a local dog park with CoCo and Lucy. Also, I like to make jewelry using polymer clay. I started a new treatment in the spring of 2010, and for the first time, I am getting relief from the chronic pain!!! Hopefully, I will continue to improve and possibly get back to work. Please help me improve by sending positive thoughts my way; I believe these "bits of good energy&quo...(read more) |
