| Favorite School Memory | My favorite memories of high school come from my participation in all 4 years of track and cheerleading. Regarding track, my favorite memory is winning the 100 m dash (senior year) against my biggest opponent from Wadsworth, causing me to "clench" the undefeated title in the 100 m. I also loved being a part of the sprint relay teams where friendships were formed. Regarding cheerleading, my favorite memories include our performances at States, particularly my senior year. I also enjoyed receiving the National Championship ti...(read more) |
| About Me | Upon graduation, I attended Baldwin Wallace College where I ran for the Womens' Indoor & Outdoor Track team. I competed throughout my freshman and sophomore years, and then decided to stop running due to injury. I became a member of Alpha Phi sorority at the start of my freshman year and stayed active throughout my 4 years. As a member, I held the position of "Marketing Alpha Phi" sophomore year and was "Director of Music" sophomore, junior, and senior year. I then became a member of the BW Competition Cheerleading team, as well as football cheerleading during my 4th & 5th years. In college, I majored in "Health Promotions and Education" and "Physical Education", with a minor in Psychology. I did my student teaching in K-1 PE at North Ridgeville and Health, PE, and Family Relations at Olmsted Falls High School. I graduated from BWC in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and my Ohio teaching license in K-12 Health and Physical Education teaching. In fall of 2009, I was hired as a long term sub. at Green High School in Special Education. I taught Resource room classes, including American Literature to 11th graders, British Literature to 12th graders, and Consumer Math. It was great being back (for what seemed so soon!!) at GHS and working with those who educated me just 5 years prior. At the finish of my job at GHS, I was soon hired by Buckeye Local Schools (Medina area) as a long term sub. in Special Education. I became an Intervention Specialist for students in grades 9-12, teaching Recource room English and doing Inclusion (etc). During my time at Buckeye HS, I was also hired as the Assistant Coach for Varsity Boys & Girls Track teams. I enjoyed this position more than I ever thought I would; I learned many things and really came to love this side of sport and competition. The girls team, with just 12 members, ended up 2nd in their league, and the boys team placed 1st. The boys continued onto Districts, where they got 2nd place, Regionals, and now....they're off to the Division II State Meet this coming weekend in the 4X...(read more) |
