MANTEO — Karen Whitehurst Wright, 69, of Manteo, NC passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family on February 12, 2024.
Born in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Margaret Whitehurst. Karen was a graduate of Great Bridge High School and Old Dominion University. She practiced dental hygiene in Great Bridge for 43 years before retiring in 2019. She was an active member of Great Bridge United Methodist Church before moving to Manteo with her husband (Richard D. Wright , in 2012.
