About	Carl had been in the US Army since Feb.1977, mostly stationed in Germany. He passed away in his sleep due to a heart attack. He was getting ready to move to Fort Benning, GA for airborne training. His captain flew home with his body and placed his wings on him. He had just been promoted to sergeant. He is buried at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens.
