| About | Sara “Sally†Johann Soden 1954 – 2005 TOPEKA — Sara “Sally†Johann Soden, 51, died May 14 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor in Topeka. She was born Jan. 12, 1954, in Great Bend, the daughter of Carl and Dorothy Brueggemann Soden. She had been a resident of Topeka since 1981, coming from Medicine Lodge and Hays. She was a social therapist. She was appointed to the Planning Council on Development Disabilities Services and served for four years. She graduated from Barton County Community College, and later from Fort Hays State University with a degree in physical education and recreation and from Washburn University with a degree in therapeutic recreation. She was a member of Grace Cathedral, Shawnee County Concert Choir and Cathedral Choir. Survivors include her parents, Carl and Dorothy Soden of Great Bend; one sister, Doris Butler M.D. and husband Michael of Wichita; three nieces, Erika Butler, Karen Butler and Kirsten Butler; and one nephew, Derek Butler. |
