About Me	Hello to all of my brothers and sisters, who have faith in God in your heart. My name is Stephen Theobald, and I live in the western part of the USA in Southern California in the urban area near the city of San Diego. I have worked as a counselor with mentally ill adults, and I have done this for over 11 years. I am a Christian man with an open mind about each individual's right to choose a God of his own understanding. Some might call me a "Marian", as I am devoted to Our Holy Mother, Saint Mary. I have her image tattooed on my chest as a tribute to her grace, her protection, and her healing power as witnessed by me in my life. I first became interested in the area of Asia where India and Pakistan are located because my paternal grandparents were British Christian missionaries in India in the late 1800s. My father, Dr. John R.Theobald, was born September 5, 1903 in British-India where my grandparents were doing missionary work in the village of Nainital, in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains for the Congregational Church from England. My father was sent to England at age 6 for schooling. He later attended Oxford University, graduating in 1925 with honors in English. He was also the recipient of the England Fellowship to Union Seminary in New York where he received a degree in theology in 1929. Dr. Theobald earned his doctorate in English literature in 1943 at the University of Iowa. He taught at Queens University in Canada, at Amherst, Trinity College, Grinnell College in Iowa, and San Diego State University. He also worked as a research associate in the Division of War Research at the University of California, San Diego. I have traveled to Pakistan in the summers of 2008 and 2009 to visit with close friends doing charity work. I plan to go to Lahore, Pakistan later in 2010, when the weather cools. We have a small team offering strong support to needy children through a non-profit organization. I believe that each of us can make a big difference improving the lives of people who are less privileged than us. We wish to provide assistance to underprivileged children and families who need a helping hand. We can provide food, transportation, education (for adults and children), and spiritual counseling, aiming to provide support in the root of community development, which we believe will be a major factor in breakin...(read more)
