Brooks played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Rams. His professional career started off when he signed as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints after the 2000 NFL draft. His journey saw him participating in NFL Europe as well, playing for the Scottish Claymores where he was the starting outside linebacker, posting commendable statistics.
