About	Name: Michael Richey Synopsis: Shortly before 6 p.m. on Sept. 30, on Milnes Road about two miles east of Claus Road and just east of Langworth Road, Richey was riding a red bike. He was heading east on Milnes on the dirt shoulder. Witnesses spotted Craig Kyle Nelson driving a white 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee erratically east on Milnes. The witnesses said the Jeep drove onto the road's shoulder and hit Richey and his bike from behind. The Jeep then swerved before it overturned and came to rest on its wheels. Richey, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene. Nelson suffered minor injuries and was arrested after he was released from Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. Even though we drifted apart during high school, Michael was my friend during our years in Jr. High. He was a great guy and even a role model for me, and I shall miss him terribly.
