Takisha Perry
Class of 2000
Born in Augusta, Georgia in the year of 1982, Takisha Perry was raised in a military family and traveled to many different countries but in 1997 as a sophmore Takisha came back to Augusta and joined the SPARTAN Family ! Out of her uniqueness grown a love for poetic expression and Takisha has taken this gift , her love for the arts , her diverse experiences outside the United States and years growing up as a Glenn Hills Spartan and incorporated in her work today.Takisha Perry published her first book in 2008 titled “When She-Motions hit the page” a book of poetry and started a tri-state tour to promote her publication.
She has had book-signings at multiple venues including: The CNN Center in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia ,Barnes and Nobles ,Aafees on Ft.Gordon, The Jazz Lounge, Soultry Sounds Café, Julian Smith Casino, Diamond Lake Community Center, Bel-Air Conference Center, Nubian Bookstore and on the historic African American campus of Paine College just to name a few.
Takisha has also been an featured guest on multiple radio & entertainment programs including:
People & Issues with Helen Blocker Adams’s News Radio 1230 WNRR , Clear Channel's Kiss 96.3 FM w/ Minnesota Fatz ,Cher Best ,The Divas Diva online radio show with Kismet Entertainment, Sister King Cannon” Gospel Radio Show ,on
Comcast’s Spotlight Television Program with Bill Botham during the
Sister CEO Celebrations which Takisha has considered a great honor to be able to participate in for the past three years. Takisha has also been a host on 3 shows " MT Talk show , Kisha Korner and the College Daze Aftershow. Takisha More recently published her two latest works of literature " Woman Heart Journey & Out of the mouth of babes,truth Speaketh".
