About	Katherine M. Geerts Telegraph Herald (Dubuque, IA) - Tuesday, December 11, 2007 PRESTON, Iowa - Katherine M. "Kathi" Geerts, 55, of rural Preston, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna, Ill., where friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Burial of the cremated remains will be held in the Preston Cemetery at a later date. Mrs. Geerts worked as a quality control specialist for the United States Government for more than 30 years. She was born on April 14, 1952, in Philadelphia, daughter of William D. and Doreen (Braithwaite) Pristupa. She married Richard Geerts on Feb. 25, 1989, in Hanover. She graduated from Glendale High School in Arizona. Kathi enjoyed her work and was an avid reader. Most of all, Kathi loved spending time with her family. Kathi will be dearly missed by her husband, Richard; two sons, Michael (Debbie) Potter, of Chambersburg, Pa., and Larry Keith (Rachel) Potter, of South Korea; eight grandchildren, Michael Harris, Thadeus Ballard and Adrianna, Sheila, Kelly, James, Ashley and Amber Potter; her mother, Doreen Pristupa, of Smyrna, Tenn.; two brothers, David (Brenda) Pristupa, of Grace, Idaho, and Stephen Burroughs, of Phoenix; two sisters, Mary G. Quimby, of Smyrna, and Elizabeth (Tom) Burgard, of Phoenix; a niece, Brittany; and nephews, Andrew, Jamie and Scott. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her father, William.
