Sean Hogan
Class of 1995
After graduating from Glen Este High School in 1995, Sean continued to work and live in the area before joining the Army. Entering the military was a crucial step in his life as he would discover as the events of September 11th, 2001 unfolded. As a result, Sean, now stationed with the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His unit was among the initial units that would cross the Kuwaiti border into Iraq and engage the enemy in the first phase of combat operations. His Air Defense unit became a mobile Infantry force as there were no air threats, and fought along side the Marine Task Force which would fight all the way to Baghdad. Sean distinguished himself during the campaign and throughout his military career. He achieved the rank of Sergeant and after ending his active duty career, enlisted with the Ohio National Guard, where he was again deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, in Wurzberg, Germany.
