Lynette Keur

Class of 1956

After graduating from Gladstone in 1956, Lynette Keur attended UBC for one year before moving east to enroll at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario where she earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree that was issued by the University of Toronto. Following a one year program in the Graduate School of Missions at Columbia Bible College in South Carolina, Lynette moved back to Guelph where she married Bob Corbeil. Several years later, Lynette and Bob moved to Ithaca New York, where she earned a PhD in Immunology from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. Lynette completed her training in a post-doctoral study of infectious disease at the University of California, San Diego. Lynette held faculty positions in Colleges of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State and Washington State Universities before becoming full professor in the School of Medicine at UC San Diego and in the School of Veterinary Medicine, UC Davis. She is now Head of the Division of Comparative Pathology and Co-Director of the UC Veterinary Medical Center-San Diego, a joint program of UC San Diego and UC Davis. Lynette has authored or co-authored nearly 150 scientific articles that focus on the basic mechanisms of respiratory and sexually transmitted disease.
