Served 4 and 1/2 years on active duty. From NOv 1957 to May 25, 1962. Honorable Discharge I was an Air Craft Mechanic I was extended for the convenience of the US Government due to the Berlin Crisis. Cuban Crisis.

Joined August 1988 and will retire August 2008. Overseas duty was Germany (Stuttgart, Hohenfels, Kitzinge and Schweinfurt) and twice in Iraq. Stateside duty assignments were Ft Ord, CA, Ft. Polk, LA, Ft Carson, CO (twice) and Ft Hood TX.
Entire career has been in food service.
Achieved the rank of SFC/E-7 Sergeant First Class.
Military awards and decorations: 1 Bronze Star, 2 Army Commedation Medals, 9 Army Achievement Medals, 4 overseas service medals, 2 National Defense Medal, 5 Army Good Conduct Medals, Drivers Badge, and Gold German weapons badge.

Our Girard High School military alumni are some of the most outstanding people we know and this page recognizes them and everything they have done! Not everyone gets to come home for the holidays and we want our Girard High School Military to know that they are loved and appreciated.
