Douglas D. Wheeland, 19, of Genoa and formerly of Carpentersville, died Monday, April 11, 2005, at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee from leukemia and pneumonia.
He was born April 22, 1985, in Elgin, to Jeff D. and Debbie L. (Helfvogt) Wheeland. He was a 2003 graduate of Genoa-Kingston High School and attended Kishwaukee Community College. He also worked part time at McDonald's in Genoa.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in West Dundee.
He loved working on cars, installing sound systems, playing the baritone saxophone, writing, and hanging out with friends.
