About Me	2nd Generation Deaf (but can talk and hear sufficiently). 2nd Generation Graduate of Gallaudet University (Mom grad. in 1942) Worked at Library of Congress, MD Human Resources, MD Labor Dept., MD Governor's Office of Indvs. W/ Disabilities, Mills Corp.; various seasonal jobs. Presently teaching sign language for Frontier Comm. College in Fairfield, IL. Love animals (have a Goldendoodle, Callie, cats Fiddle, Faddle & Fred); am stepparent to one Golden, Brittney Sue, a young whippersnapper of 11.5 months]; a Maltese, aged c7 yrs, Harry (who was adopted last Oct but originally was kept by us 3 yrs old and we located his masters, he then turned to the house & settled right in [his masters were never found] and four cats, Tiger, Carly, Harlequin and Bozo. All cats are stay-home cats, relishing the good lives they've been allowed to be part of. Now for hobbies: LOVE genealogy (am 51% German, 49% Anglo Saxon), reading, music and working outside in the garden (my tomatoes made it thru the heat waves this past [2010] summer!). This past year (Feb, 2010-Jan 2011) Have lost a toal of 3 pets and 2 prospective pets: Heather, passed on Feb. 5th due to lung cancer, was nearly 13 years old.' Daisy, passed on 01 Dec due to complications from diabetes. She had just turned 9 years old Sabrina, passed on 18 Jan due to complications from diabetes. She was nearing 15 1/2 years old. In April, lost two prospective puppies, one was born dead to Daisy, the 2nd (from a 2nd litter) died when it was 2 weeks old. Oh, haven't updated this yet! We have a new dog (acquired in May, 2010, Brittney Sue Pierce, born 23 April 2010. She is Daisy's g g'dgt. She is now nearly two years old and weighs over 70 lbs. A sensitive gal, she loves to play with hard rubber toys. Am on the Governor's Commission for Deaf and Hard of Hearing People (IL) which means I travel to Springfiel...(read more)
