Sandra Bell Duckworth

Class of 1974

Presently employed by Westerville City Schools as an Elementary Guidance Counselor she sits on the Board of Directors for the Ohio Education Association. Besides being a Board member she also serves on the Informaton Technology Committee and chairs the Equal Employment Opportunity Committee for OEA. When she is not busy doing Board business she also represents her area on the Central OEA/NEA board where she is co chair of the Diversity Committee and a member of the Finance Committee. She believes that changes in education can only occur when we the teachers become politically active. Prior to becoming active on the state and district side of education she served as building representative and treasurer of Westerville Education Association. While active in her local she created their first Resolutions documents as well as the constitution that governs the body.

Before becoming a counselor she taught business for 25 years where she taught 2 work study programs, ran a school store, was active in DECA as well as the professional associations; Career Technology, Marketing Educators Association, and Ohio Business Teachers.

Becoming involved in high school led to a career of involvement professional and personal. Sandra presently resides in Gahanna, Oh where she lives with her husband Ron Duckworth.
