About	Rick Bates, who was my brother-in-law, died on November 2, 2010 after a long illness with melanoma. He is survived by my sister, Carolyn A. Bates (Morgan) Class of 1965, daughter Kristen Conrad, son Eric Bates and four grandchildren, Shelbie, Abby, Cole, and Caleb.
