About	Mark Hazel passed away on August 30, 2008 in Concord, Massachusetts after a courageous battle with cancer. Mark faced this incredible challenge and remarkably turned it into an opportunity to reflect on all he appreciated about life. His generosity of spirit, braveness, sense of humor and positive strength touched all who knew him. Mark was born on June 6, 1962 in Bethpage, NY and grew up in Garden City, Long Island. Mark graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a degree in Industrial Design and continued as an adjunct professor in his specialty fields of metal and wood. Early in his career, Mark's design work was exhibited in many galleries and also featured in the New York Times. He co-founded Swing Design, in Concord, Massachusetts, with his long time friend and colleague Everett Bramhall. Swing grew into a successful international product design and manufacturing firm; featured in The Boston Globe for their design talent. In the past year, Mark spent many happy months enjoying his family and friends, as they explored the beaches and birds of Sanibel, Florida. Mark approached life with a quest for knowledge and a keen sense of adventure. Buddhist teachings and meditation provided a pathway to his inspiration and strength. Mark is survived by his loving wife Sarah DeLorenzo Hazel, and his daughters, Chloe and Gwen Hazel; also by his parents, Dr. Eve Hazel and Dr. Jack Seiferth and the late Dr. Joseph A. Hazel; his sister Dr. Karen Hazel and brother Robert (Wendy Hoover) Hazel.
