About	James Fennessy passed away suddenly on October 13, 2004. He received a Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church on October 18 and was laid to rest at Holy Rood Cemetery. Jim was born on January 19, 1962 to Michael and Kathleen Fennessy. In 1972 his family moved from Cypress Hills, Brooklyn to Garden City. He was the brother of Cathleen (Whelan), Michael, Marie (Wendorff), Deirdre (Regan), Patrick, Julianne (Shirley), John, Eileen (Weller) and Daniel. Jim graduated from Garden City High School in 1980 and attended Wentworth University. He worked in the construction field since he was a young boy at his fatherâ€™s knee. Since 1992, Jim worked as a General Supervisor of Construction with the Shannon Group, Garden City, where he worked with Michael and Deirdre. On November 28, 1998 he married Sharon Madden, daughter of Mary and the late Harold Madden of Garden City. He is the father of James (5), Michael (3) and Megan (1). His favorite pastimes were spent with his wife, children and family. He loved to fish, garden, ski and of course, sing Irish Ballads in that resonant tenor voice. Jim was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was a generous, thoughtful, kind and compassionate man who truly touched and brightened the lives of many.
